Posting

(1) Do not spam. "Spam" includes the following:

creating several threads about the same topic on one or multiple boards
double posting (if you have something to add, please modify your last post)
posting pointless, irrelevant, or off-topic replies (this includes one-word posts)
creating threads irrelevant to the given board

Spam threads will be locked; spam replies will receive a chastising edit. Three offenses will result in a warning. Once you have been warned, you've only got one strike left; you will then receive a one week ban.

(2) I never want to see txt speak on my forums. Ever. I expect you to use punctuation, spell words out completely, and use good grammar.
---Offending posts will be edited to include a translation (if we can understand it) and the member will be chastised. Three edits will get said member a warning.
---Members whose first language is something other than English are a special case when grammar is concerned. But no txt speak.

(3) DO NOT POST IN CAPITAL LETTERS. This is considered "shouting" and is just not necessary. Offending posts will be edited and the member chastised. Two edits will constitute a warning.

(4) All posts must be made in English, as per ProBoards regulations. It is also a bit hard for us to moderate what we cannot understand.

(5) If you cannot think of something productive to say, please just don't post. "What else was I supposed to say to that?" is not a valid excuse for spam. Please think through your replies before hitting the "Post" button.

(6) Don't feed the spammers! If you see a thread that you know to be spam or contains an advertisement, don't post a snide remark or flame the user. Just ignore the thread and a mod will deal with it. Repeatedly replying to spam will land you with a warning.

Behaviour

(1) Cursing is allowed to a certain extent. "Damn" and "hell" are the only words I want to see here, but never directed at another member.

(2) Respect the opinions of all other members, no matter how skewed or off base they may seem to you. By the same token, please refrain from posting any views you hold that you know to be controversial or provocative.

(3) I will tolerate no harassment or flaming on my site. A verbal attack on another member is punishable by a two week ban. The second offense gets the account deleted and the IP address and e-mail account banned.

(4) DO NOT chastise me, or any other staff member, in public or in PM. If you think I've handled a situation unfairly or dealt with someone harshly, ak me (very politely) in PM why I made the decision or said what I did. Do the same with any moderators.
--- If you think a mod has misbehaved or acted tyrannically, PM me about the situation, and please remember to provide me with links.

Images

(1) The maximum size for signatures is 500x175 pixels. If you image exceeds this limit, you will be PMed and asked to remove it or resize it. If you do not log on within two days of the PM being sent, the image will be removed. If you log on and do not remove the image, it will be forcibly removed and you will receive a warning.
---Do not argue with the staff member who sends you the PM. This will earn you an automatic three-day ban.

(2) Avatars over 100x100 pixels are automatically resized. To make sure your image does not appear distorted, try to use images that are 100x100 or smaller, and be sure to enter the dimensions in the appropriate fields in your profile.

(3) When embedding an image, make certain that it is 550 pixels wide or less. If it stretches out the page, the image will be converted into a link by a staff member. Multiple edits of this kind will result in a warning.
--- If you find an image that is stretching out your page, please report it to the moderator ot that board.

(4) Posting pornography or other sexual images will be rewarded with a swift and angry deletion. Your e-mail and IP addresses will be permanently blocked from our site.

Advertisement

(1) Do not PM members asking them to join your forum, be it ProBoards or otherwise. This will result in your account being deleted without warning.
--- This regards mass PMs only. It is perfectly fine for you to PM a friend here and ask them to check out your site.
--- If you receive an advertising PM, send it to the admin and it will be dealt with.

(2) Do not make threads advertising your forum, web site, or business, or offering g-mail invites. The thread will be locked, any links broken, and your account will be deleted without warning.

Activity and Staff Positions

(1) A member will be considered inactive when he/she has not posted in one month. After one month, the action will depend on how many posts you have:

0-49: You will receive an e-mail and your account will be deleted if you don't post within one week
50-99: You will receive an e-mail and your account will be deleted if you don't post within two weeks
100+: You'll receive an e-mail and will continue to receive them about once a month until you either come back or tell us to delete your account.

--- The above does not apply if you post in the Personal Leave thread, assuring us that you are still interested but will be on vacation, will not have access to the internet, etc.

(2) Staff positions are granted on a merit basis. If you want to be a mod, you will be asked. Do not PM me, or any other staff member, asking for staff positions. You will receive a warning, and if you continue, a ban.

Miscellaneous

(1) Multiple accounts on this site are strictly forbidden. Please remember that I can see your e-mail address, even if you hide it, and your IP address. I am also rather good at comparing posting styles, spelling habits, and e-personalities.

(2) Please stay within the legal and moral limits established by your nation, state, province or community regarding internet use. Any unlawful action will be reported to the proper authorities. The staff is not responsible for giving you any help if you take actions that result in arrest or criminal prosecution. Posting certain types of images or messages can fall under the category of illegal actions depending on what your government or community deems illict.

Posting Prizes

We've decided that you guys deserve some rewards for being active members.

---When you reach 250 posts, you can have a custom title. PM me (Moonshadow) with what you want when you reach 250. (Please make sure it follows our rules.)
---When you reach 500 posts, you will be able to have a link displayed in our welcome box. PM me with the address and title of the site when you reach 500. (Please don't PM me site that conflict with our rules or ProBoards TOS.)
------- If you have no site to display... I'm sorry.

We don't have an alternative prize right now, but we're working on it.
